Formation
What is Christian spiritual formation?
Christian spiritual formation is the ongoing, Spirit-led process by which a believer is shaped into the character and likeness of Jesus Christ. It is not a program or a personality upgrade. It joins Scripture, prayer, sacraments and community with the daily surrender of thoughts, desires and habits, so that inward transformation produces outward obedience, love and mission over a lifetime.
Scripture: Romans 12:1–2 · 2 Corinthians 3:18 · Galatians 4:19
Deliverance
What is the relationship between deliverance and discipleship?
Deliverance is an encounter; discipleship is the formation that follows. Jesus set people free and then called them to follow Him — to renew the mind, live in community, and grow in obedience. Without discipleship, freedom is often lost. Without deliverance, discipleship can stall against real spiritual bondage. The two belong together: freedom opens the door, formation walks through it.
Scripture: Luke 8:38–39 · Matthew 12:43–45 · Matthew 28:19–20
Gifts
How can Christians develop spiritual gifts responsibly?
Spiritual gifts grow through Scripture, prayer, humble practice and accountable community. Ask the Holy Spirit, study what the Bible teaches about each gift, submit to trusted leaders, keep character ahead of platform, and steward what you receive with love. Responsible development means testing what happens, honoring the person you serve, and letting fruit — not excitement — measure whether a gift is truly being formed in you.
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12 · 1 Corinthians 14 · 1 Peter 4:10
Identity
What is performance-based identity?
Performance-based identity is the belief that your worth depends on what you produce, how you're perceived, or how well you meet an expectation. It shows up as anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing and burnout. The gospel confronts this directly: in Christ, identity is received before it is achieved. Belovedness comes first; obedience and fruit flow out of it, rather than earning it.
Scripture: Ephesians 1:3–14 · Galatians 2:20 · 1 John 3:1
Identity
What does identity in Christ mean?
Identity in Christ means your truest self is defined by union with Jesus — chosen, adopted, forgiven, sealed by the Holy Spirit and given a new nature. It is not a mood or a motivational label. It is a covenant reality that stays true when you fail, when others reject you and when circumstances change. Living from it reorders everything: fear, ambition, relationships and purpose.
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17 · Ephesians 1:3–14 · Romans 8:14–17
Mentorship
What is Christian spiritual mentorship?
Christian spiritual mentorship is a relational, Spirit-led process where a more seasoned believer walks alongside another to help them mature in Christ. It is not therapy, coaching or a shortcut to platform. It combines Scripture, prayer, honest feedback, accountability and prayer ministry, aimed at freedom, character and calling — measured by likeness to Jesus, not personal preference or performance.
Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:2 · Titus 2:1–8 · 1 Thessalonians 2:8
Testimony
How should healing testimonies be shared responsibly?
Share what actually happened, give glory to God, and honor the person healed. Get consent before naming anyone, don't exaggerate outcomes, and don't promise identical results to others. Encourage medical follow-up rather than replacing it. A responsible testimony strengthens faith and points to Jesus; it never manipulates emotion, monetizes suffering or shames those who are still waiting.
Scripture: Revelation 12:11 · Psalm 107:2 · John 9:25
Courage
How can Christians walk with courage during anxiety?
Courage is not the absence of anxiety; it is faithful obedience while feeling it. Bring anxious thoughts honestly to God in prayer, anchor them in Scripture, and let trusted community and — when needed — professional care carry you. Practice small acts of trust: breath, rest, worship, service. Over time, love expels fear as your identity in Christ becomes more real than the threat.
Scripture: Philippians 4:6–7 · 1 John 4:18 · Isaiah 41:10
Ministry
What should churches look for in a healing ministry?
Look for sound doctrine, submitted leadership, tested character and pastoral care — not just meetings with signs. A trustworthy healing ministry teaches Scripture faithfully, respects local church authority, honors medical wisdom, protects the vulnerable, keeps finances transparent, and disciples the people it prays for. Fruit over time — freedom, maturity, love — matters more than volume of stories on a stage.
Scripture: James 5:14–16 · 1 Timothy 3 · 1 Peter 5:1–4
Gifts
Why is character important when developing spiritual gifts?
Gifts are given; character is formed. Scripture repeatedly warns that gifting without character wounds people and dishonors God. Character — humility, honesty, love, self-control — is the container that carries a gift safely. Without it, a real gift becomes a platform for pride or harm. With it, the same gift becomes a lasting blessing to the Church and the person you serve.
